Who is behind it
Churchpoint is built and run by Louis Saks from Berlin, as a sole trader. No agency, no investor, no team behind the scenes.
What it is about
Christian events are scattered across many church websites, notice boards and groups. Anyone new to a city, or who just wants to know what is on at the weekend, has to search for a while. Churchpoint brings these dates together in one place and keeps sign-up as short as possible: name, email, done.
How it is funded
Churchpoint is free for visitors and for churches. There are no ads and no paid placements. Churchpoint keeps 1 % of the ticket price on paid tickets, and that funds the running of the service.
Why no account is needed
Signing up for a service needs no user account. Name and email are collected, nothing more is needed for a ticket. Phone and message are optional fields the organiser can turn on. Anyone who does not want to install the app can sign up in the browser.
Where the data sits
The database runs at Supabase in Ireland, payments run through Stripe in Ireland. No tracking, no analytics tools, no profiling. The ticket works offline because it sits on the device.
Other apps
The same person also makes two smaller iOS apps: Holy Reminder, with daily Bible verses and prayers, and Bibel Millionär, a Bible quiz.
