Terms of use
These terms apply to the website churchpoint.de and to the Churchpoint app, for visitors and for organisers alike.

English translation
This English version is a translation provided for easier understanding. The binding and legally authoritative version is the German one: Nutzungsbedingungen (German version).
1. Provider and scope
The provider and operator of Churchpoint (“Churchpoint”, “we”) is the person named in the imprint. These terms apply to everyone who uses Churchpoint, both through the website and through the app, both as a visitor and as an organiser.
These terms become part of the agreement as soon as you submit a registration for an event or create an organiser account. You can call them up at this address at any time, print them and save them as a file. The version published here when you submitted your registration applies.
2. What Churchpoint is and what it is not
Churchpoint provides only the technical platform through which organisers (churches, congregations, Christian organisations) publish their events and visitors register or buy tickets. The contract for taking part in an event, or for buying a ticket, is concluded solely between the visitor and the respective organiser.
Churchpoint does not become a party to the contract for attending the event and is neither the organiser nor a co-organiser. The respective organiser alone is responsible for the content, the lawfulness, the running and the cancellation of an event.
3. Use as a visitor
Visitors do not need a user account. To register for an event you provide the required details (name and email address) and confirm that they are correct.
A ticket is valid for the person and the event for which it was issued; the QR code has to be shown at admission. Do not pass your ticket code on to third parties. Whoever shows it first gets in.
4. Organiser accounts
Organisers can only register with a valid invitation code (invite only). As an organiser you are responsible for:
- the accuracy of your event details (title, description, place, time, price, capacity),
- compliance with applicable law, including tax and pricing obligations as well as your own duties to inform participants,
- actually running the event and delivering to those who registered,
- handling the participant data you receive through Churchpoint with care, and
- keeping your login details confidential.
5. Content and rules of conduct
No unlawful, insulting, discriminatory, violence glorifying or youth endangering content may be posted, and no content that infringes the rights of third parties. Anyone who uploads images must hold the rights to them, including the necessary consents where people are identifiable.
Inappropriate events can be reported directly in the app via “report event”, through our contact form or by email to info@churchpoint.de. We are entitled to review and remove reported or conspicuous content and to block accounts in the event of violations. We inform the organiser concerned when we remove their content.
6. Conclusion of contract
The technical steps. You open an event and fill in the registration form: name, email address and, if the event allows several places, the number of places. The box for messages from the organiser is optional. You submit your registration with the send button. For free events our server checks capacity and the registration deadline, creates the ticket and sends it to you by email. For paid events you are taken to the hosted payment page of Stripe. After the payment you return to the ticket page and our server creates the ticket. The contract with the organiser is concluded as soon as the ticket has been issued. The ticket is always created on the server, never in your browser.
Storage of the contract text. We do not store a contract text for you and do not make one available for later retrieval. Your confirmation is the ticket email with the details of the event, the number of places and, for paid tickets, the price. Please keep this email. You can call up these terms of use here at any time, print them and save them.
Recognising and correcting input errors. Until you press the send button you can change every field in the form: name, email address, number of places and the box for messages. The form reports missing or incomplete details before it sends. If you want to cancel, simply close the page. If you only notice a mistake after sending, contact the organiser or info@churchpoint.de.
Contract language. The contract is concluded in German. The website is available in eleven languages (German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Romanian, Turkish and Russian). These terms of use, the legal notice and the privacy policy are additionally available as an English translation. That translation is a reading aid. In the event of discrepancies, the German version applies.
7. Prices, payment and refunds
For visitors Churchpoint is free of charge; for paid events the ticket price displayed at the time is due. Payment is processed through our payment service provider Stripe, and payouts to organisers run through Stripe Connect.
For organisers Churchpoint is free of charge and usable without a subscription. For paid tickets we retain a platform fee of 1 %; Stripe’s payment fees are charged separately.
For cancellation and refunds, the details given by the respective organiser apply, as far as they announce them for the event, together with your statutory rights. If they give no details, your statutory rights apply on their own. After registering you can reach the organiser through the reply address of your ticket email; in the Churchpoint app their profile can be seen beforehand as well. If an event is cancelled or is already sold out, a refund can be issued automatically.
8. Right of withdrawal
The following details are information for you, not a withdrawal notice from Churchpoint. The contract for taking part or for the ticket is concluded with the organiser, not with us. A right of withdrawal therefore exists towards the organiser. Churchpoint can neither grant it nor exclude it.
For contracts on services in the area of leisure activities for which a specific date or period is provided, there is no right of withdrawal under Section 312g(2) no. 9 BGB (German Civil Code). Events on Churchpoint have a date and a time. As a rule this exception therefore applies, and your registration cannot be withdrawn.
If the exception does not apply in an individual case, you as a consumer have 14 days to withdraw from the contract. The period begins when the contract is concluded. You withdraw by making a clear statement to the organiser, for example by email. You can reach them through the reply address of your ticket email. No particular form is prescribed.
Irrespective of the right of withdrawal, the cancellation rules of the respective organiser apply (see section 7). If an event is cancelled, the refund of paid tickets runs automatically through Churchpoint.
9. Term and termination
Visitors. You do not need an account. There is no term and no notice period. You can stop using the service at any time by leaving the website or deleting the app. You can withdraw a registration for an individual event as long as it is unpaid. To do so, contact the organiser or info@churchpoint.de.
Organisers. The organiser account runs for an indefinite period and can be terminated at any time. You delete it in the app under “More” and then “Delete account”. Deletion is blocked as long as there are still bookable events in the future or open refunds. Take such events offline first or wait until they have taken place.
The page Delete account and data describes the whole route. It also explains what guests without an account can do and which data we have to keep for tax reasons.
Churchpoint can block or close an organiser account in the event of serious or repeated breaches of these terms. We wind down ongoing events and tickets already sold in an orderly way. We inform those who registered, and paid tickets are refunded to the extent that the event does not take place.
10. Availability
We aim for reliable operation, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, faults or technical development can lead to temporary restrictions. Digital tickets are deliberately built so that they also work offline.
11. Accessibility
How accessible the website and the app are is set out in our accessibility statement. It contains the information required by Section 14 BFSG (German Accessibility Strengthening Act): the state of conformity, the measures implemented, the known limitations and the way to report a barrier to us.
12. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, under the German Product Liability Act and for injury to life, body or health. In the case of simple negligence we are liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation (cardinal obligation) and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Any further liability is excluded.
We accept no liability for the content and the running of the events offered by organisers.
13. Data protection
How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We can adjust these terms when Churchpoint, our offering or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies in each case; we inform you of material changes in an appropriate manner.
15. Applicable law and final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies; mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
